This tight block in Trentham offered an exciting challenge, this compact garden was designed to feel dynamic and generous despite its size. The brief called for a highly functional space that was anything but ordinary.
Four circular elements define the layout; a seating area with pond, fire pit and a spa, each defining its own moment within the garden. Together, they create three distinct outdoor living zones.
Carefully positioned screens provide privacy to the spa without closing in the space.
Mass-planted birch trees provide compact dappled shade, while mixed perennial and native shrubs create year-round colour and interest.
A soft grass path connects the spa to the house, comfortable underfoot for bare feet. The result is a small but action-packed garden; practical, playful and full of movement.
