Located on a steep slope overlooking a beautiful gully, the site was a blank slate, with topography presenting both opportunities for views and challenges with access.
With only a few existing mature trees providing shade, the design responds directly to the land to form a layered, functional garden.
Level changes are resolved through stepped lawn and paved areas that move naturally through the site.
A lower fire pit creates a destination for gathering, while borrowed valley views are prioritised through open fencing that visually extends into the landscape.
Planting features a restrained mix of native grasses and perennials, with mass planting and repeated colour palettes creating cohesion.
